Introduction

This guide will explain the basics of the game. It will also include some extra information about the differences between each class, about PvP (Player vs Player) interaction, earning Skill Ranks and Crafting.

Classes

Professions in Cabal are quite simple. This is a little overview of the choices that are given.
Please be aware these stats choices are to be made after you have the requirements for your equipment.

Warrior - Relies heavily on raw power. The warrior depends primarly on physical attack and defense. Stat Choices - Pure Strength (rarely Pure Dexterity)
Blader - Depends a lot on their critical success rate. Stat Choices - Pure Strength (Wearing warrior armour and blades) or Pure Dexterity (The natural build for a Blader)
Force Archer - One of the more agile classes in Cabal. A perfect support class with many buffs and has good damage output. Stat Choices - Pure Dexterity
Wizard - Known as the best PvP(Player vs Player) class. They have amazing damage output. Stat Choices - Pure Intelligence
Force Blader - The master of debuffs. Force bladers have terrifying debuffs that make them truly deadly. Stat Choices - Pure Dexterity (rarely Pure Strength)
Force Shielder - Similar to the blader, they depend on their critical strike and If they land a critical blow than the fight is heavily in their favor. Their attack power may be low but their defense makes up for it. Stat Choices - Pure Strength(Sword skills) Pure Dexterity(Sword skills/Magic skills) Pure Intelligence(Magic skills)

Player vs Player

So you're wondering how you can duel someone to show your strength? This is how, but be aware that you cannot duel in cities unless it's a Guild vs Guild (GvG) war. I'll come back to the GvG wars later but for now the PvP duel. You must be out of the city and have your opponent close to you. Now what you do is you click on them, look at the top where it says their name, click menu, then click "request a PvP". Now you will start dueling that person if he accepts the request.

Note: Make sure that before you accept the duel, you have your buffs all casted on you. When accept is being clicked the attacking starts right away.

Skill Grinding

Some people dislike skill grinders. The reason behind that is because this makes you much stronger earlier on which other players might underestimate you. Skill grinders begin leveling skills at a very low level normally around about 40 to 45, usually when they are able to equip their aramid and shadowsteel adept sets.

Start with getting yourself a good set of adept equipment:

  • Necklace - Amulet adept (For your level)
  • Rings - Rings of adept (2) (For your level)
  • Adept Helmet - +3 Skill EXP or +4 Skill EXP
  • Adept Suit - +3 Skill EXP or +4 Skill EXP
  • Adept Boots - +3 Skill EXP or +4 Skill EXP
  • Adept Gloves - +3 Skill EXP or +4 Skill EXP
  • Adept Sword - +3 Skill EXP or +4 Skill EXP
  • Adept Crystal/Orb - +3 Skill EXP or +4 Skill EXP

Once you hit level 70, you can start wearing bracelets that give skill EXP as well. You can also buy an Epaulette of Discipline from the Cash Shop that gives 2 skill EXP extra for 30 days. And if you can affort it, you can buy Blessing Beads that increase skill EXP by 10% or 25% for 1 hour, 2 hours or a whole day.
Also you can equip an Astral Board (X Steel Blue or X2 Green) for additional skill EXP.

Note: Do not get pushed into buying titanium adept equipment. This is will not give you more skill EXP then the so much cheaper Aramid/Shadowsteel equipment. The only difference is that you will take less damage from higher level mobs when you use those to gain skill EXP. Instead get the cheaper equipment and take lower level mobs to skill-train on.

Now that you have maximized skill EXP, we have to start selecting skills.

The best to use are arrow magic skills. These skills are cheap to purchase at the Instructor, have the fastest casting time of all skills and do as little damage as possible.

If you want to use as little skills as as possible (because you don't have enough slots free for these skills) use your skills on level 9. This gives the best cooldown time. And allows you to make a combo with less skills.
If you have 4 free slots, the best thing is to keep the beginner skills on level 1, since the cooldown of the beginner skills on level 1 is no problem if you use 4 skills.

If you want to train your Sword Rank you can go to the Port Lux instructor when you're level 50+, and you can get a skill called Force Change Sword to Magic, or Magic to Sword. Be aware you need to be A.Expert to acquire this skill.
So now your magic skills will be granting EXP to your Sword Rank because of the Force Exchange (Force Change Magic to Sword).
Be aware that if you equip this upgrade, you will not gain any points in your Magic Rank anymore untill you remove the upgrade.

If you want to train your Sword Rank without using the Force Change upgrade, you can use low ranked Sword Skills to gain skill EXP in sword. Basicly you use the lowest ranked (weakest) skills with the shortest casting time possible and you make a combo with them. These skills depend on the class you play, and can be different for everyone.

Monster Training List

Below are a few monsters recommended to level skill ranks at certain levels:

Training dummies

On dummies you can gain your first 30% of your rank, here is an example:

Your skill level is 0/100, now you want to make your first 30%, so you leave it on the dummy while afk (Put a safety pin on your key to stick it down, so it keeps shooting the skill). Leave it automatically attacking on the dummies and go to sleep. When you wake up, you will probably have 30/100 - all depending on your rank of course. But if another person comes with 37/100, that person won't get any skill points off the dummies because it's only the first 30% that gives the skill EXP.

Crafting

Once you complete a certain quest at around about level 50, you get asked what do you want to be a crafter of. These are the choices:

Note: Crafting costs allot of money. Most of the time you will have to put in more money then you make out of it untill you are high ranked in it.

Read more about crafting in the Crafting Guide.

Choosing Your Guild

Choosing a Guild is an important thing to do in Cabal Online. Have you entered the game to reak havok or to play peacefully with new friends that you find ingame. A guild can help you with various things. When you are stuck in a quest, guildmembers can advise you in it.
Also you have people you can fall back on when you run into problems, and playing together with friends is more fun then alone. That's why you play a multiplayer game.
